Make sure your face is clearly visible and well-lit.
There should be at least 16 inches of distance between the camera and the body. The photo should be taken by another person and should not be a selfie.
Your head should be facing straight towards the camera. That means the head should not be tilted up, down, left or right.
Stand in front of a solid-colored wall and make sure there is plenty of lighting in the room where the photo is taken.
